About

The time is now to step up your dental routine.  With the change in the world happening and the oncoming pandemics teeth have become a front runner in today's health.  We are wearing masks to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and this has brought our breath to bare.  We now are smelling our dental health daily as we travel to and from our homes.  Most places have implemented mask regulations and many of us are noticing that our breath is not great.  Halitosis can be the sign of really bad diseases or simply just not great dental routines.  So let's all avoid more dental costs by stepping up on our dental routine. I want to go over a few things that you can do to be better on your dental health and help you and your possible mask issues.

So I know it sounds childish to say it but you need to brush your teeth.  The American Dental Association thinks that you should brush your teeth at least two times a day.  Many dentists suggest three times a day.  Normally, I would think this was overkill but since I now work from home like many Americans I know that it can be done.  I think this is the best start to working on your dental health and to be able to get rid of bad breath.  I know this because keeping those food particles down and away from your mouth can help keep the cause of halitosis down.  So if you struggle with brushing your teeth up to three times a day don't feel bad.  The best way to get into a habit is to make it a habit.  I suggest setting your phone alarm for breakfast lunch and after dinner.  This will let you know when to go brush your teeth.  It is an annoying thing to do but after thirty days or so you will most likely be able to turn the alarms off and simply know its time to brush.  The effects should lead to better-smelling breath and also whiter teeth.  This will not only lead to happier mask-wearing but also less needed trips to the dentists for emergencies.  That is a great reason to brush your teeth more.  Lowering the costs of future surgeries is even better than better breath in my opinion.

The next thing you can do is to stop smoking.  I know this does not apply to everyone but smoking is a huge thing in the United States and many people who are noticing bad breath also smoke.  If you stop smoking which I know is a very hard habit to break your breath will most likely be better.  Now that is all taken into account the idea that you are also following a good dental routine as well.  If you smoke and have really bad breath you may want to see your healthcare provider because you may end up having some really bad disease. Another thing to do is to keep a mouth hydrated.

Part of a great dental routine is drinking lots of water.  This increases the saliva produced in your mouth which in turn cleans your mouth.  The constant rinsing of water will help move food particles away and defeat tooth decay and help prevent the causes of halitosis.  The best way to do this is to get a personal water bottle and enjoy drinking water from that. I find it complicated and bad for the environment to use one-time use bottles.  Hope this helps you and your dental health routine!
